Celebrating World Teachers’ Day
ICCT Colleges, together with the College of Education, once again, successfully celebrated the World Teachers’ Day on October 6 at the Gymnasium of ICCT Cainta Campus with the theme ” My teacher, My Hero”.
World Teachers’ Day has become an annual commemoration of pride and honor for teachers and students who pursue the noble proffession of teaching. All over the world are not simply an educator, but a hero- a hero that does not always save life, but saves future. They do have a very great impact on us,students, that’s why thanking them on their most special day is really a must and something not-to-forget.
In line with this, ICCT Colleges never failed to celebrating this occasion. With the cooperation of Educators’ Society (ES), the event started with the a doxology from selected Student Teachers while the SIBOL Theatrical Guild gave an astounding opening number. Ms. Oharrah Mae Bernardez, ES Adviser, gave the opening remarks.
Undeniably, it is special to recognize the unending dedications of our teahcers, in line with this, chosen ICCT Professors were awarded. The top 10 Most Outstanding Faculty Award and Students’ Choice Award with the different categories were presented.
As the awarding continues, the students were on the edge of there seats and can’t stop from cheering to their favorite teachers. English majors performed a song; Filipino did Sabayang Pagbigkas, the Math majors did interpretative dance while the Physical Science majors and ECEd did a modern dance. The Educators’ Society gave the final presentation with a short play and song portraying how a teacher can affect a life of a person.
This event does not only serve Teachers’ Day, it also became a moment of reminiscing of the memories of the Late College Dean of Education, Dean Raul M. Pineda with the special tribute from all the Education students. The event ended with a closing remark given by the AVP for Student Affairs, Ms. Zenaida Nicolas.(Joyce Chico)
